Which Homey products work with Homey Portal?
Homey Portal works with Homey Cloud, Homey Pro (2023 — 2026), Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server. Homey Cloud is free for your first 5 devices and can be upgraded to Premium as your smart home grows.
Do I need the Homey app to set up Homey Portal?
Yes. You need the Homey app for iOS or Android to set up and customize Homey Portal, for example, to manage shortcuts.
Which devices can Homey Portal control?
Homey Portal belongs to one zone, such as your living room. It can control everything in that zone, including any zones within it.
To control a different zone, add another Homey Portal there. You can also tap any device outside the current zone, or add a shortcut to any device in your home.
Homey Portal supports most device types. If a device can’t be controlled yet, support may be added in a future update.
Can I control multiple Homeys with one Homey Portal?
Homey Portal connects to one Homey at a time. To control devices from another Homey, you can use the HomeyLink app.
Can Homey Portal be used in a public setting, like an Airbnb?
Yes. You can remove the standard icons and only show shortcuts for the devices you want guests to use. You can only make changes in the Homey app, so guests can use the display without changing it.
Can I mount Homey Portal on something other than a wall or desk?
Yes. You can download a free 3D reference schematic to print and build a custom mount.
Can Homey Portal replace my thermostat?
No. You can’t replace your thermostat with Homey Portal because it doesn’t communicate directly with your boiler. It can, however, control thermostats, air conditioners, and other heating devices that work with Homey.
When does the introductory price end?
The $ 249 price is for the first batch only. After that, Homey Portal costs $ 299.
When will my Homey Portal ship?
Orders ship first-come, first-served, and are expected to go out before the end of 2026. We’ll email you as your order gets closer to shipping.
